We are all looking for balance in our daily lives. Having a chronic illness or being a caregiver to a loved one with a chronic illness can make that difficult. I help clients living with chronic illness who experience declining mental health, a decrease in healthy interpersonal relationships, or a sense of loss. I understand chronic illnesses not only affect the individual with the disease but family members. I help these families, whether it be the primary caregiver, significant other, or siblings, in finding harmony while managing the illness. I support clients in owning their inner strengths/capabilities that we all possess but are unsure of how to utilize during stressful life events.
I utilize a combination of Intergenerational Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Belief Systems Analysis to assist clients in understanding how family-of-origin, generational patterns, and behavior/thoughts can impact our communication style when faced with life-altering events. Clients will be able to set healthy boundaries in multiple areas of their lives while transforming their mindset towards optimal mental health.
I value and respect cultural diversity in all aspects and have experience working with clients from various backgrounds. I strive to provide not only a safe space but a confidential, authentic, and culturally sensitive space to service the community. Let me help you improve your quality of life! Do not let your illness define who you are. Allow me to assist you in taking that journey to a new normal.
