Are you in a relationship struggling with poor connection, trust issues, non-existent boundaries, or poor communication? Are you a woman dealing with dysfunctional relationship patterns, rejection, anxiety, or trauma? If you are struggling with creating and sustaining healthy boundaries, putting yourself first, or breaking the impact of dysfunctional family patterns or past experiences on your current life or relationships, working together may make all the difference. You deserve to create and maintain healthy boundaries and to experience secure, healthy relationships.
As a doctoral-level clinician, I have been rigorously trained in individual and couple systems and believe it is crucial to address both behaviors and thought patterns, as well as values and family-of-origin issues. I use a trauma-informed approach that incorporates attachment theory and mindfulness principles when conducting therapy. I also utilize sand tray and art therapy interventions for minors, and EMDR for both adults and children who have experienced trauma or distressing life events.
I appreciate and honor diversity in all its forms and enjoy working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who are not religious or spiritual. However, I am open to integrating biblical principles into therapy upon request. I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate and an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training. I am in-network with most Ohio insurance plans, as well as Optum and Aetna in Michigan.
